What is Recruitment Fraud?
Recruitment fraud is an elaborate scheme that presents fake job opportunities. Typically, this deceptive practice occurs through online channels, such as fraudulent job postings or unsolicited emails claiming affiliation with the company. These deceptive emails ask for personal information and, in some cases, will send you a check to gather your personal information.
How to Recognize Recruitment Fraud:
Emails may appear to be sent by an individual posing as a recruiter of Golden Hippo. If the email address does not end with "@goldenhippo.com," it is not legitimate.
If you are only communicating via e-mail or text message and receive a job offer without a phone call or face-to-face interview, this is not legitimate. Authentic Golden Hippo interview processes will always consist of an initial phone call with a recruiter and then virtual interviews hosted on Google Meet with the hiring team.
Perpetrators often request recipients to complete fake recruitment documents, including application forms, employment terms and conditions, or visa forms. These documents may falsely feature the Golden Hippo name and logo without authorization.
There is an early solicitation for personal information, such as home addresses, birthdates, CVs, passport details, and bank information.
Perpetrators send you a check to purchase fake office equipment. Golden Hippo will never send you a check.
There is a sense of urgency associated with these communications.
