My Experience as a Golden Hippo Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Hayley, and I am Golden Hippo’s Employer Brand & Employee Engagement Intern. The majority of my day-to-day tasks in this role involve creating engaging social media content for all the Golden Hippo entities, employee outreach, helping write and send monthly newsletters, and updating our company website! 

Since the beginning of my internship, everyone at Golden Hippo has been so welcoming and eager to help me with anything I might need. Every morning I wake up excited knowing I get to tackle new projects and contribute to the success of the company’s branding efforts.

While my work days are typically remote, I’ve had the opportunity to come into the Woodland Hills office and take advantage of their beautiful conference rooms, kitchen, and other amenities. It was great to be able to meet my team in person, and I immediately felt welcomed by everyone that I spent time with. 

This internship has really taught me how much I enjoy working in employer branding. My previous internship experiences in marketing were more product-focused, so it’s been a great learning experience for me to be on the people side. I’ve also become a lot stronger at content creation and have put my time management skills to good use.  

My manager, Tannum, has been such a key part of the amazing experience I’ve had so far. She’s taken so much time to get me acclimated with the company and my role, and constantly checks up on me to make sure I feel supported and that I’m enjoying my internship. I’ve also had the chance to shadow employees in different departments, which has been helpful when it comes to thinking about the next steps in my career.   

As someone who has been a part of multiple internship programs in a variety of industries, I could not recommend Golden Hippo’s internship program enough. I’ve learned so much about what it takes to be successful in the workplace and have been surrounded by the best leaders that contribute to making Golden Hippo’s culture so incredible.
