In your opinion, why have mental health benefits moved so much more to the forefront of company healthcare packages?
While Golden Hippo has always prioritized our employees’ mental health, conversations about employees’ mental wellbeing have become more frequent and significant since the COVID-19 pandemic. Both employees and employers are recognizing the connection between mental health and workplace satisfaction, making mental health benefits an important part of maintaining a positive and thriving work environment. By providing mental health services, employers are investing in their employees on a larger scale and making sure they feel that all of their health concerns are being recognized. Additionally, by emphasizing mental health benefits, companies are helping to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and creating a more comfortable environment for employees to speak up regarding their concerns and get the help they need.

Our Employee Assistance Program gives employees opportunities to reach out to specialists for help with work/life balance, and provides licensed professional counselors to help with a variety of mental health struggles. Our EAP website also has a wealth of resources surrounding mental health, with webinars covering topics such as mental illness, suicide prevention, healthy sleep habits, and more.
